We will not be holding a January FUSE event, so be sure to check us out on February 25 at The Refuge in East Northport!!!

Instead of holding an event in January, we encourage you to check out other events that are being held this Saturday, January 28, such as The Heart of Worship Coffee House (with Crossing Jordan!), located at 301 West Hoffman Avenue, Lindenhurst (www.heartofworshipny.org). There are plenty of opportunities to connect with others this Saturday! :)

FUSE Partners with Operation Christmas Child!!!

As many of you are aware, each Fall our monthly service projects benefit an awesome organization called Operation Christmas Child, which is operated through Samaritan’s Purse. Operation Christmas Child’s mission is to “demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way to needy children around the world, and together with the local church worldwide, to share the Good News of Jesus Christ.” Through the gift of a simple shoebox filled with small toys, school supplies, personal hygiene items, and other assorted small items, children worldwide get to experience the Love of God and to hear the Gospel, both very often for the very first time!

Church on the Sound in Stony Brook is one of the several Operation Christmas Child relay centers in our area. Churches from all across Long Island will be sending their filled shoeboxes over to Church on the Sound, where these shoeboxes will be packed into cartons and loaded onto trucks to be sent off to one of the main national Operation Christmas Child relay centers. These cartons will then be dispersed through a team of volunteers to children all across the world!

This year, FUSE has the awesome opportunity to become more involved with such a worthwhile cause. We will be partnering with Operation Christmas Child and Church on the Sound in helping to pack the cartons and load them onto the trucks. The dates and times below are the times that FUSE will be helping out with Operation Christmas Child:

Saturday afternoon, Nov 19, from 2- 4 pm
Sunday afternoon, Nov. 20, from 4 – 5:30 pm

Can’t make one of the above dates but would still like to help? Below are the dates and times that Operation Christmas Child volunteers will be at Church on the Sound:

Monday, Nov. 14 from 5-7 pm
Tuesday, Nov. 15 from 11 am – 1 pm
Wednesday, Nov. 16 from 5-7 pm
Thursday, Nov. 17 from 11 am – 1 pm
Saturday, Nov. 19 from 10 am – 4 pm
Sunday, Nov. 20 from 1 pm – 5:30 pm
Monday, Nov. 21 from 1 pm – 7 pm

No prior notice is needed…you can just show up to Church on the Sound whenever you are available and donate your time and talent to this wonderful cause. FUSE will be getting together on Saturday, November 19 and Sunday, November 20 to help out.

Church on the Sound is also hosting a shoebox packing party on Sunday, November 13 starting at 1:00pm. All are welcome to attend :)

FUSE’s Annual Christmas Party!!!

FUSE’s Annual Christmas Party will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2011 from 7:00-11:00pm at Crossroads Church of Long Island in Farmingdale, with worship by Crossing Jordan! Come out on our very first official venture into Nassau County and celebrate the birth of our Savior! We will also be decorating Christmas ornaments to be put onto mini-Christmas trees. These trees will be donated to the pediatric waiting room at St. Charles Hospital in order to help brighten the day for the children and families who will be spending the Christmas season there!

October FUSE

Our October FUSE will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2011 from 7:00-11:00pm at Village of Faith Church in Farmingville! We will be enjoying some amazing worship by Common Call, and will be continuing our annual tradition of putting together shoeboxes to benefit Operation Christmas Child as our service project! FUSE’s 4th Birthday Event!!!

Hello, everyone! We cannot believe how quickly the time has passed, and are excited to announce that on Saturday, September 24, FUSE will be celebrating its FOURTH birthday event!!! :) Where has the time gone…from its initial inception during the summer of 2007 when God planted the seed of FUSE on the heart of one of our leaders (and the same conceptual seed on the hearts of many others), to our first event in September of 2007, to what FUSE has become today, we feel so amazed and blessed to have been a part of what God has done on Long Island over the past four years, and feel even more excited to see what He has planned for the future!

So come out and celebrate FOUR amazing years of God’s faithfulness, and kick-off another awesome year of FUSE with us on Saturday, September 24, 2011, from 7:00-11:00pm at Church on the Sound in Stony Brook!!! We hope to see you all there :)

Hiking the Greenbelt Trail

On Saturday, August 27, 2011, FUSE will be celebrating the end of summer with a hike on the Greenbelt Trail!!! We will be meeting at 11:00am in the William T. Rogers Middle School parking lot in Kings Park, hiking the Greenbelt Trail to Sunken Meadow State Park, spending some time at the beach, and then hiking back! We hope you will join us :)

Please bring with you any necessities you think you may need for the day! (ex: water, snacks, sunblock, etc.)

In case of inclement weather, we will be going bowling instead!!! We will be meeting same day, same time (Sat, 8/27 at 11:00am) at the AMF Smithtown Bowling Lanes, located at 200 Landing Avenue in Smithtown! Worship on the Beach Outreach at Robert Moses

FUSE will be hosting our annual Worship on the Beach Outreach Day at Robert Moses on Saturday, July 30, 2011 beginning at 2:00pm!!! B) We will be meeting on Field 2- park all the way on the left side of the parking lot and walk heading left on the beach in order to find us! We will be hanging out and enjoying God’s beautiful creation and each others’ company until around 4:00pm, when Common Call will lead us in acoustic worship!!! Please bring with you any necessities you think you may need for the day! (ex: water, snacks/food, sunblock, umbrella, beach chair, towel, etc.) We hope you will join us :)

Outdoor FUSE event at Stony Brook Christian Assembly

Our June FUSE will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2011 starting at 7:00pm at Stony Brook Christian Assembly! We will start the night off with outdoor games such as frisbee, basketball, and can jam, and finish the night off when the sun goes down with s’mores and acoustic worship around a bonfire!!! Since this FUSE will be held picnic-style outdoors, please bring a blanket or towel to sit on- or a lawn chair if you prefer! If it happens to rain, we will be holding FUSE inside of the church. We hope to kick off the summer with you :)

Saturday, May 21, 2011

Our May FUSE will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2011 from 7:00-11:00pm at The Refuge in East Northport! We will be starting the night off with a game of volleyball from 7pm until sundown outside on the church lawn to enjoy the beautiful spring weather! For our monthly service project, we will be decorating planters/planting flowers in order to brighten up the common room of a local nursing home! We hope to see you all there for fellowship, food, fun, volleyball, and worship :)
