Meet The Team

Jillian- Administrative Director and Evangelism Coordinator
Jillian is a native Long Islander who grew up in St. James. A graduate of Marist College, she is now a certified teacher and is completing her Masters at Stony Brook University. At her home church of Church on the Sound, she leads the young adult group and helps with a teenage girl’s group called True ID.
Jillian is the Administrative Director and the main contact person for FUSE. She organizes and coordinates all of the different aspects of FUSE so they all can work together harmoniously. She loves to share FUSE’s story and vision with others and connect with individuals and groups.
With a heart for evangelism, another of Jillian’s roles is the Evangelism Coordinator. She plans and organizes FUSE’s outreaches and testimonies and is always on the lookout for evangelistic opportunities for FUSE to get involved in.

Liz- Director of Finances and Service Coordinator
Liz grew up and currently resides in St. James, Long Island. She graduated from Marist College with a degree in Elementary Education and is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Literacy from C.W. Post. Along with being a teacher, she is also a tap and ballet instructor for a local dance studio.
With a desire to serve others, Liz is the Service Coordinator and in charge of the service projects for FUSE. She plans and coordinates the monthly service projects as well as special events such as volunteering at soup kitchens and visiting the elderly. Liz also acts as FUSE’s Financial Director. Being in charge of the finances, she ensures that all monetary transactions are completed accurately and with integrity.

Carla- Site Coordinator
Carla Sutherland originally hails from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, and moved to Suffolk County, Long Island in 2002. Since then, she has acquired her Bachelor’s Degree from New York University, and is currently a certified English teacher. She has worked with both the youth and young adult ministries at Church on the Sound in Stony Brook, and has been a part of FUSE since its inception.
As the Site Coordinator of FUSE, she connects with host churches before each event, organizes set-up and break-down, and helps each venue achieve FUSE’s “coffeehouse” atmosphere.
She invites everyone to experience FUSE and unite with them at their next event!

Paul Varughese- Volunteer Coordinator
Paul is a native Long Islander who grew up in Hempstead. Paul has completed his Bachelor’s of Science degree in Mathematics from Stony Brook University and is currently working toward a high school teaching certification as a graduate student. His academic interests include fundamental geometry and applied/abstract algebra. He currently attends Stony Brook Christian Assembly where he is the Director of both the Young Adult and Junior Bible Quiz ministries. He feels particularly blessed to be able to work with such an awesome bunch of kids and young adults each week.
Paul is extremely excited for what God has in store for the coming year and really loves the mission of FUSE to unite the Young Adult body of Christ across Long Island. He believes it is a vision that follows after God’s own heart. As the Volunteer Coordinator, Paul plans to connect all the amazing people that want contribute to the success of each FUSE meeting, to areas of FUSE where they can get involved. He is always looking for more volunteers, particularly in the area of advertising, technology and on-site set-up.

General Leadership
Megan- Devotional Coordinator and Prayer Team Leader
Megan grew up in East Northport, Long Island. She is currently pursuing her bachelors in Religion at Liberty University. At her home church of Smithtown Gospel Tabernacle, Megan is involved with the Young Adult group and small group bible study. She also enjoys reading and taking adventures!
Within FUSE, Megan is in charge of the devotional time at the beginning our FUSE events as well as serving as an awesome prayer warrior on our prayer team.

Mike Boccasini- Music Coordinator
Mike moved around a lot, but has spent most of his time in Port Jefferson Station. He is a graduate of Eastern University with a Bachelors in Psychology. He currently works as a Youth Director For Stony Brook Christian Assembly and as a Child care worker for the Prodigal House with Timothy Hill Children’s Ranch.
As the Music Coordinator Mike finds the bands for each month and makes sure that they have everything needed. Like the rest of the team her wears many hats for FUSE and serves in other ways as well.

Dan- Director of Media and Webmaster
Dan was born on January 28th 1982 and grew up in Hauppauge NY. He has been attending Grace Church in Smithtown since the age of eight. After graduationg from Hauppauge High School in 2000, Dan attended CW Post University, receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Graphic Design.
In 2007 Dan re-committed his life to Christ and God has been using Dan’s talents ever since. Besides art, Dan has a passion for music and plays guitar, drums and piano. He currently leads worship at his church and maintains many of the graphic design and advertising projects for both his church and FUSE.
